Boat Ride

Taylor went on her first boat ride last week and absolutely loved it! Our friends Matt and Linda invited us to go on their boat after work last Thursday. We had a great time riding over to Pine Island for dinner. They have a precious little girl named Marin who was kind enough to share a life jacket(along with her entire wardrobe) with Taylor. Marin is an old pro at boat riding so she showed Taylor what to do.

6 Months old

Taylor is 6 months old! She is sitting up by herself, scooting on her tummy, eating from a spoon, laughing and talking a lot, SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT, loving Flash, putting everything in her moth and making her mom and day very happy. We are continuing the introduction of new foods. so far she has had rice and oat cereal, papaya, green beans, sweet potatoes, apple sauce, and yellow squash. She really does not like any of them yet, but she does eat a little more each time she tries them. She does however, love chips! :) At her 6 month check-up she got her third round of immunizations (so sad), was 27 inches long (90%), weighed 15 lbs 4 oz (50%) and was hitting all of her benchmarks. One of her favorite things to do is listen to her dad play the guitar and violin. This has become a daily routine for the two of them and Taylor absolutely loves it.
I had planned, and would have loved to, nurse Taylor for her first year of life. Unfortunately, I was not able to keep my supply up after I started working and have officially stopped nursing. This has been bitter sweet. On the bitter side, I miss the time together, breast milk is the b-e-s-t, so I feel guilty that she is not getting the ideal, formula is SOOO expensive, Taylor's poop is DISGUSTING, and I have to make sure we always have formula with us. On the sweet side: I do not have to pump during my planning time, I do not have to pump when I am exhausted at night, I don't have to worry about bottles for the next day, my bras fit, I don't have to leave the room when people are over, we know exactly how much she is eating, and we can feed her anywhere any time. I am so very thankful for the time I was able to nurse and that for the most part, it was easy and enjoyable.

Thanks Aunt Bunny!

We hung the swing that my aunt Bun gave Taylor at my shower, in the back yard. We have all found a new favorite past time, as Taylor LOVES to swing!

First St. Patty's

5 Months Old

We have started Taylor on cereal and she is not a fan. We are hoping she will like fruits and veggies a whole lot more than she does rice cereal and oatmeal. She is such a funny girl, always smiling and laughing. She had her first little cold this past week. A low grade fever and a runny nose. She handled it like a champ although we did endure two very long sleepless nights.
