The Lake Rake

Pete found an idea online to get frisbees out of a lake and decided to see if he could make it work. He fashioned a rake to be thrown into the lake to retrieve lost frisbees. This has now become his and Trey's favorite afternoon activity. I think the search and rescue count is now up to around 137 . These pictures are from their second attempt when they pulled in 49!!

Spring Break

For Spring Break we took a small trip up to North Florida. We left Friday right after school and drove to Gainesville for the night. We ate dinner at Satchels and spent the night in the hotel, Blake in the pack and play and Tay with us in the big bed. Saturday we woke up, ate breakfast at the hotel, then drove to Amelia Island. Saturday and Sunday were rainy and windy so we spend the majority of the time at Amelia and Eli's playing with all of the fun toys. Pete and Eli redid the nursery ceiling, we cooked some good food, and enjoyed watching the kids play. Since we now have two little pumpkins, we stayed in a hotel downtown which was really fun for all of us. On Monday morning Tay woke up and said she was sad because of the "mean cat". We guess she had a bad dream, she pointed to a red light on the wall, so maybe she saw it in the middle of the night and it scared her (poor baby). When we left on Monday, we took the Ferry from Amelia Island over to North Jacksonville where we went to a park for a little bit. It was a wonderful, quick trip. Unfortunately, both kids were sick for the rest of the Spring break, and we were very thankful we had no other plans for the rest of the week. After two doctor visits and two antibiotics, we also had our third trip to the ER, this one for a medication allergy. Taylor broke out in hives from her antibiotics. Thankfully, all she had was hives and we were in and out of the ER in about an hour. Pete and I are so grateful for my wonderful job that allow us to have so much vacation time that we are able to spend as a family.
