Myles, Alyssa, and the ducks

On Saturday night we had our friends Alyssa and Myles over for dinner. They actually brought all the food and we had delicious steaks and mashed potatoes. After dinner we drove down to LoveBoat ice cream and then came back and played Mad Gab. We laughed so hard listening to each other try to say the ridiculous phrases. Right before they got to our house we looked out to our bird feeder to see two Mallard ducks eating the food that the other birds had dropped onto he ground.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

On Saturday we went down to the Corkscrew Swamp in Naples and walked the 2.25 mile boardwalk. It was a beautiful walk with thankfully a lot of shade. We saw some gators, a snake, a whitetail doe with her fawn and lots of beautiful Cypress trees. After quite a while of looking, we finally started spotting some orchids and were even fortunate to spot a ghost orchid as we stopped to let some people pass us. The walk was great but I was so hungry by the end of the trail that I started getting shaking and was ready to get back to the apples and granola bars that we had left in the car.

I took another picture of the two of us and I was holding up four fingers(for four months prego) but Pete asked me to erase it as he said it looked like I was flashing a gang sign.

Frisbee Golf

Pete had an amazing show on this basket
On our way back home in the car.

This was Pete graciously retrieving my runaway Frisbee from off of the building

Last weekend we headed down to Fort Myers Beach to play the Frisbee golf course. The skies were a little overcast most of the game which made the playing very enjoyable. It started raining on the 13th hole (not sure if you call them holes) so we had to run to the schools amphitheater. It was so awesome sitting in the open pavilion listening to the rain fall. Of course Pete won, but it was still fun getting out and enjoying the day. There was a group of people playing tennis on the courts next to the course. They had their 80s music blaring and they kept yelling back and forth at each other because they couldn't hear over the music, it was hilarious. After the golf, we went down the Matanza Pass Trail and got majorly lost looking for the water. It was a great day!

15 weeks

All of a sudden, a significant pregnant bump has popped up. when you feel my stomach it actually feels like a pregnant tummy. For the first 12 weeks I had some food aversions, mostly to vegetables, I am sad to say. Right around the 13th week, those dislikes went away for the most part. For about two days after that chicken rubbed me the wrong way. Now, however, I am back to feeling pretty good about all foods.

Sweet Jacob, content and happy as always

For spring break Pete suggested we go visit my BFF Melissa and her family in GA. So, we got to spend the week hanging out with Lis, her boys, MA, Phil, and John (when he was home from work). We had a great time relaxing, feeding the fish, going for walks, getting ice cream at Mayfield Dairy, and playing with the boys. Pete was such a trooper as we did hang around the house quite a bit, and he was forced to read and nap. Thankfully Phil was off a lot of the week so they played Frisbee golf a couple of times and did a couple of other guy things. On Friday night the six adults went to the Virginia Highlands for dinner. I have not laughed so hard in years! It was a wonderful trip.

Amelia Isand

For Easter weekend we went to Amelia Island to visit Eli and Amelia. We got there Thursday night and went out to dinner down by the beach. Friday Amelia and Eli were both off work so we packed a picnic and went out on the boat. Eli caught a 27 pound Black drum, Pete caught a 50 inch Red Fish, Amelia caught a 36 inch Red Fish, Grace caught lots of pictures and a tan. Saturday we rode our bikes out to Fort Clinch and then into town for lunch. Saturday night we had a fish fry and watched a movie. Sunday we went to sunrise service and then to church where Amelia and Grace worked in the nursery. Sunday afternoon we went to the beach and then relaxed at the house. It was a wonderful trip!
These were two of the mammoth fish caught on this trip. Amazingly, the boys landed these two fish at almost the exact same time.
Looking off of one of the piers at Fort Clinch

Amelia's large red fish. Notice the boat behind them. This was a guided trip and they had the unfortunate luck to be right next to us as we landed three huge fish and they were unable to catch anything more than small whitings. We were sure that guide was getting an earful from his unhappy, fishless customers.

Trip to see the Sapps

We went down to Homestead to see the Sapp Family. We went to the park, lunch, and the movies to see Shutter Island. Grace and Emma were so fun and baby Lilly is growing big inside her mom. While we were at the park Grace saw a bike rack and said, "I know what this is!" We asked her what it was and she said, "this is where you put the hay!" She is certainly a Wyoming girl!!!
