Patiently waiting

Pete and I have been continuing our walks on the beach each morning. At 8:30, the Key West Express boat heads out to sea. If there are no other boats in the channel the KWE takes off creating a huge wave. We try to get to the beach each morning in time to see the boat leave because if it is able to go full throttle, dolphins ride the waves for an unbelievable amount of time. The other morning we got to see them jumping with the wave and one of them was pink. It was an amazing sight !
We have been filling our days by working in the garden, running errands, cleaning the house, doing laundry watching movies, walking the Six Mile Cypress boardwalk and spending a lot of amazing time together. These days have been more special than I could have imagined, and we are relising each and every one of them. We will go for our 41st week appointment tomorrow where they will do another non- stress test, an ultrasound and most likely schedule a time to induce. Pete has been having stomach pains for almost three weeks now and will be going into have an endoscopy on Wednesday. This should be a very exciting and full week to say the least.

On the boardwalk

Pete's favorite thing to see on the walk are the wild pigs

Donald, Lindsay and the boys stopped by our house on the way back form visiting Steven and Jenny. We took them down to the boardwalk to show them one of our favorite places in Fort Myers.

After hearing that we might see pigs on the walk, Tyler made pig sounds the rest of the time.

We appreciated these guys stopping by as they were all exhusted and anxious to get home. It was nice spending some time with them and enjoying their company.

40 Weeks!!!

We went to the doctor today for our 40th week appointment. Technically we are one day over due right now so they did a non-stress test to make sure the baby was still moving and doing good. Everything came out great but for the third week in a row I am just 1 cm dilated. Dr. Shah scheduled our appointment for next week when we will do another non-stress test and an ultrasound. When we made the appointment at the front desk we told the girl, hopefully we would be unable to make that appointment.
Today is my third day of maternity leave. I had planned to work right up until the baby was born but Pete encouraged me to start my maternity leave this week so that I could have some time to rest before the baby arrived. I am so thankful for his encouragement because we have had the most wonderful last three days together. Monday we woke up and went for a walk on Bowman's beach, came home, cleaned the house and mowed the yard and then played 18 holes of golf. Pete played the golf, I just rode along for the ride and it was perfect. Tuesday we took a walk and then went to the movies to see The Town. Tuesday night we ordered pizza and relaxed. Today we went for a walk on Fort Myers Beach, ran some errands, went to lunch, went to the library, went to our doctor's appointment, took a walk around the neighborhood and are going to relax tonight. It has been such a blessing spending this very special time together, especially as we realize that this is the last time it will be just the two of us in our little family.
Each day we anticipate the arrival of our sweet baby, it is so much fun thinking that everyday could be the day.

Sapps

Paul, Megan and the three girls flew into Miami Thursday night to attend Megan's brother's wedding. On Friday morning they drove over to Fort Myers to spend a couple of hours with us. We went to the Corkscrew Boardwalk and had a picnic. We were so thankful that they drove all the way over to see us. It was so nice to spending time with some of our most treasured friends.
Grace and Emma feed the squires, Emma kept calling them Chipmunks.
We saw four pigs routing around right off of the boardwalk

38 Weeks

I have been having quite a bit of activity the last two days. I really thought I was going to go into labor last night, but here we are today still going strong. I am actually 39 weeks today, exactly one week away from my due date! As the time gets closer the excitment level continues to grow. Pete and I went over everything we wanted to get in order before the baby and I think we are pretty much set.

Time with Mom

My mom came up this Friday and we stayed the night at a hotel on Fort Myers Beach. She got to our house around 4:30, we checked in at the hotel and took a walk on the beach. We went to a fish house for dinner and then an independent film afterwards. Saturday we sat on the beach a while, went for an ocean swim and then had a light breakfast at a coffee shop. We headed down towards Estero and did a little thrift shopping before ending up at Best Of Everything. BOE is a costume jewelry store that has every kind of necklace, earring, bracelet etc. that you could ever want. We spent a good two hours trying on jewelry and looking at all the store had to offer. Amazingly we managed to walk out without a single purchase. We had some lunch and went to Target before mom drove back to Homestead. It was wonderful being able to spend some time together and talk about all of the exciting events that are just around the corner.

Thank you Steven, Jenny, Donald, and Lindsay!

My brother and sister-in-laws have been so very generous to us in preparation for this sweet baby. Jenny and Lindsay sent us twelve Bumgenius cloth diapers that we are very excited about using. Pete washed and hung them the other day and they looked so sweet hanging on the line. Lindsay and Donald have also given us Tyler's baby furniture which has given us all the storage room we needed. The other day I cam home to find a box from Jenny and Steven containing a Boppy and a monitor, the two things I was still in need of purchasing. I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a loving family.
When we went to Homestead last time, my nephew Wes kept wanting to feel the baby move. After he attempted several times to no satisfaction, I told him the baby was sleeping. Wes told me to open my mouth. I obeyed. He then yelled into my mouth, "wake up baby", it was such a funny moment!
